B R A I N S T O R M
While all steps of my writing process are necessary for a polished, completed piece, the first step, brainstorming is the most crucial. When I sit down to write, I have a head full of thoughts - my ideas become a jumbled mess. My brainstorming process allows me to collect and organize my thoughts on my given topic. The first thing that I do to brainstorm is write down my topic and break it into separate subtopics. I then review each subtopic and write down all of the ideas and arguments that come to mind. Once I have completed my brainstorm, I am left with a rough outline that helps me gather and separate my ideas for my writing. Without completing this step, I believe my writing would be poorly organized and sloppily constructed.
