E D I T
During my editing process I, like Lamott suggests, "fix [the draft] up. . . [I] try to say what [I] have to say more accurately" (Lamott 303). When I edit my paper, I have the corrected draft (the one edited from a friend) open so I can see the changes I need to make when writing the final copy. In my eyes, the final draft is "the dental draft. . . you check every tooth to see if it's loose or cramped or decayed. . ." (Lamott 303). I double check all spelling, formatting, grammar, and punctuation. Although I do not enjoy the editing step of my writing process, I recognize that it is crucial to the development of my piece.
